Sysmex CA-600 series coagulation analyser

Sysmex CA-600 series automated coagulation analyzer

A compact, fully automated Sysmex coagulation analyzer for PT, APTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer and specialty tests in true random access. Milap International supplies, installs and services the CA-600 series as an authorised Sysmex partner.

  • Up to 60 PT tests/hour 42 tests/hour for PT, APTT and Fbg
  • 5 tests at once true random access
  • Clotting, chromogenic, immunoassay on the CA-660
  • 566 × 490 × 490 mm compact benchtop footprint

What is the Sysmex CA-600 series?

The Sysmex CA-600 series is a compact, fully automated coagulation analyzer for mid-volume labs. It uses optical scattered-light detection for clotting tests such as PT, APTT and fibrinogen and, on the CA-660 model, adds chromogenic and immunoassay tests including D-dimer, running up to five different tests at the same time in true random access.

Key features

Broad test menu

PT, APTT, fibrinogen, TT, factor assays, lupus anticoagulant screen and confirm, and on the CA-660 antithrombin, D-dimer and vWF tests.

True random access

Programme up to 14 test protocols and run up to 5 different tests at the same time.

On-demand STAT

Urgent samples can be run as soon as they arrive.

Auto-dilution

Automatic dilution for accurate results with abnormal fibrinogen or D-dimer levels.

Reaction curve review

View the reaction curve for each result to support correct interpretation.

Built-in quality control

X-bar and L-J control programmes, plus bi-directional LIS connection.

How a coagulation test runs on the CA-600

  1. Collect blood in a light-blue sodium citrate tube, filled to the correct level, and centrifuge it to get plasma.
  2. Place the sample on the analyzer; the probe with a liquid-level sensor aspirates plasma and reagents.
  3. The sample is incubated at 37 °C and the detector measures clot formation by scattered light, or colour or turbidity change for chromogenic and immunoassay tests.
  4. Results and reaction curves appear on the touchscreen and print on the built-in printer or go to your LIS.

Who is the CA-600 series for?

The CA-600 series suits hospital labs, diagnostic centres and blood banks with a mid-volume coagulation workload, including pre-operative screening, anticoagulant monitoring and bleeding investigations. Choose the CA-620 for routine clotting tests, or the CA-660 to add D-dimer, antithrombin and other chromogenic and immunoassay tests on the same analyzer.

Frequently asked questions

Clotting tests such as PT/INR, APTT, fibrinogen, TT and factor assays on both models. The CA-660 also runs chromogenic tests such as antithrombin and immunoassays such as D-dimer.

The CA-620 runs clotting tests only. The CA-660 adds chromogenic and immunoassay tests and has a built-in barcode reader.

Up to 60 tests per hour for PT alone, or 42 tests per hour when running PT, APTT and fibrinogen together.

Yes. It has on-demand STAT capability, so urgent samples can be run as soon as they arrive.

Coagulation tests use citrated plasma from light-blue sodium citrate tubes, filled to the correct level and centrifuged before testing.
