What is the SD Biosensor ULTRA C20?
The SD Biosensor ULTRA C20 is a fully automated HPLC analyzer that measures HbA1c by ion-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography. It runs a test in 90 seconds in Fast mode, loads 20 samples continuously with cap piercing and a built-in barcode reader, and switches between Fast, Fast Variant and Variant modes without changing the column or reagents, so one system covers routine HbA1c testing and haemoglobin variant profiling.

How a test runs on the ULTRA C20
- Place capped EDTA tubes in the 20-sample auto loader; more can be added while it runs.
- The analyzer reads each barcode, pierces the cap and samples 5 µL of whole blood.
- Haemoglobin fractions are separated on the ion-exchange column in the mode you selected.
- Results and the chromatogram appear on screen and can be sent to the LIS.
