SD Biosensor STANDARD G6PD analyzer

A handheld analyzer that measures G6PD enzyme activity and haemoglobin from 10 µL of blood in about 2 minutes. Milap International supplies and supports the STANDARD G6PD as an authorised SD Biosensor partner.

  • About 2 minutes time to result
  • 10 µL capillary or venous blood
  • 0–20 U/g Hb measuring range
  • WHO PQ version available

What is the SD Biosensor STANDARD G6PD?

The SD Biosensor STANDARD G6PD is a portable point-of-care analyzer that measures glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme activity and reports it relative to haemoglobin (U/g Hb). It uses 10 µL of blood, gives a result in about 2 minutes and can identify intermediate G6PD activity, which helps decide safe malaria treatment and supports screening.

Key features

Quantitative G6PD

Reports G6PD activity relative to haemoglobin in U/g Hb.

Intermediate detection

Identifies intermediate as well as deficient G6PD activity.

Fast result

About 2 minutes on the analyzer.

Handheld

Portable and battery-operable for point-of-care use.

Haemoglobin too

Also reports total haemoglobin in g/dL.

Room-temperature strips

Test devices stored at 2–30 °C.

How a test runs on the STANDARD G6PD

  1. Insert a test strip into the analyzer.
  2. Collect 10 µL of capillary or venous blood.
  3. Apply the sample as the test instructions direct.
  4. Read G6PD activity (U/g Hb) and haemoglobin after about 2 minutes.
