Atellica CI Analyzer: chemistry and immunoassay on one system

Many laboratories run chemistry on one analyzer and immunoassay on another, and split every sample between them. The Siemens Healthineers Atellica CI Analyzer does both on a single system.

What is the Atellica CI Analyzer?

The Atellica CI Analyzer combines clinical chemistry and immunoassay testing in one analyzer with a footprint of 1.9 m². It processes up to 1,120 tests an hour and has a menu of more than 200 assays, so a laboratory handles more samples with less manual work.

How the 1,120 tests an hour add up

  • Photometric chemistry: up to 600 tests an hour.
  • Electrolytes: up to 400 an hour by Integrated Multisensor Technology (sodium, potassium, chloride).
  • Immunoassay: up to 120 tests an hour.

Less hands-on work

The analyzer is designed to cut the manual steps between receiving a tube and releasing a result. Siemens states that its integrated automation reduces end-to-end manual workflow steps by 75 percent.

  • Onboard storage: calibrators and QC material are stored on the analyzer.
  • Tube handling: sorting, archiving, sealing and de-capping are built in.
  • Daily maintenance: runs by itself, with under five minutes of operator time.
  • Reagent stability: chemistry reagents stay on board for up to 6 months and immunoassay reagents for up to 3 months.

Who it suits

The Atellica CI Analyzer suits hospital laboratories and laboratory networks that want chemistry and immunoassay on one system. It comes in five configurations for standalone and network use, and it shares technology, reagents and consumables with the larger Atellica Solution, so results stay consistent between sites.

What to plan before installation

  • Site: floor space, power, water and room conditions.
  • LIS: connection to your laboratory information system; see connecting analyzers to your LIS or HIS.
  • People: operator training and a service contract.

Milap handles site preparation, installation, configuration, LIS connection, training and preventive maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Up to 1,120: 600 photometric, 400 electrolyte and 120 immunoassay tests.

The analyzer has a footprint of 1.9 m².

Walkaway time is up to 2 hours.

The CI Analyzer is a single integrated analyzer. The Atellica Solution is a modular platform for higher volumes, built from separate chemistry and immunoassay modules.
